Lauren Oberbannscheidt – President, Board Chair



Lauren initiated the German International School of New York City project and is President of the Board of Directors.  Ms. Oberbannscheidt holds an M.B.A. from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.  She has lived abroad, including working for a major investment bank as a VP of equity sales.


Ralf Oberbannscheidt – Treasurer



Ralf is a portfolio manager at Global Thematic Partners.  Mr. Oberbannscheidt holds an M.B.A. from the Monterey Institute of International Studies.



Bertram O. Ploog - Board Member



Bertram is a tenured Associate Professor of Psychology in the Dept. of Psychology at the College of Staten Island (CSI) as well as the City University of New York (CUNY).  Additionally, he is a member of the Center for Developmental Neuroscience (CDN) at CSI.  Mr. Ploog holds a PhD in psychology from the University of California, San Diego.

Carola Grundmann - Board Member



Carola is an entrepreneur and long-time volunteer on the German language school building project.  Born and raised in Germany, Carola came to New York in her early 20′s as an au pair.   She built up and managed her own successful international jewelry company for the past 20 years and gained extensive knowledge in business and human resource management.
